Grace Best is an outstanding school. Our son had some learning difficulties the Kindergarten teacher brought to our attention, related to his memory, so we enrolled him in Learning RX (another excellent program). Many of the learning tools learning RX used were standard items when our son was in 1st Grade. This is an extremely impressive modern teaching environment. Our son is now one of the best at reading and math in his class, but is still able to be challenged by the structure of the program. The volunteer opportunities in the classroom from Kindergarten through 1st grade have given us an excellent view into what the 'norm' is, and a good assessment as to how he rates to the other kids in his class.
security at the school seems to low? Considering the news we see daily and unfortunately the world we now live has changed so much. I find it very easy to enter the school lobby since I do pickup my daughter every Friday I notice people enter easily with no badges etc. Would it be to expensive to issue parents a photo ID to be able to enter facility and then check in? I am concerned and hope all measures are being taken to protect our children while at school.

Security is much better than last year. Security doors have been installed and parents need to buzz the office just to get access to the building. All visitors are required to sign in and wear a visitors badge. My child has told me of lock down drills and walkie talkies carried by staff members. I've also noticed fences installed around the playground perimeter. I believe the school is taking security into hand and doing the best they can with the money available.

Wow, how can anyone rate a school after having their child in there for only 2 months. From experience, private schools tell parents what they want to hear to keep their children there, a la tuition money. The Barton Spelling program they use is superior to any other in teaching reading and spelling and many kids are excelling because of it. My child has been involved with this program for a year. This school is superior in many aspects and I feel I am given opportunity to participate anywhere needed. My child recieves PE, music, technology, counciling, library education at least an hour a week and am thrilled at what is brought home. My child is keyboarding in first grade and another is learing PowerPoint in 2nd. Grace Best is best!
