I personally have found Gallardo to be an excellent school! My children have attended since 2004 and I have nothing but kudos for the Principal, teachers and staff-even the janitors who make the campus look beautiful! I don't know what planet 'we moved to Folsom in Summer '05' is on, but I have to defend the Principal as having a warm personality who puts safety as a priority! Plus she is always out greeting students and families. Both my daughter and son's classrooms have had good 'learning environments' with caring, dedicated teachers! Especially back in first grade- and both their early/late reading groups were wonderful I recall. The only thing you should watch out for at this school are rattlesnakes on the playground and high maintenance mothers. Just my 2 cents!

Due to finances, my daughter switched from a private school to Gallardo (1st grade). We have loved everything about the schoo. The principal is very active with the kids, her teacher was awesome, the rooms are play grounds are safe and clean. Comunication was frequent and informative. The curriculum was not as advanced as the private school, but certainly above average. have no complaints whatsoever about this school. It's a great place! Go Gators!
We moved to Folsom in Summer '05 when our oldest was starting Kdg. My husband was an elementary Vice Principal at the time (in Elk Grove) and I was/am a credentialed elementary school teacher. We HATED the fact that there could be up to 32 kids in a Kdg. class....insane and not conducive to learning at all! Very basic, at best, Kinder curriculum. First grade, the following year, better academically, but discipline in classroom almost non existent. Learning environment severely compromised and our daughter not challenged in her 'later gator' supposed 'challenge' group. My husband accepted a principalship back in the Bay area for the 07-08 school year and our daughter attends his school. Teachers very dedicated @ SJG despite being some of the lowest paid in Sac area (a travesty!) Administrator, while nice person, lacked true leadership skills and this was never more evident than on the issue of school safety!
