My daughter was failing 7th and 8th grade. We were finally able to get her into SAS for her 9th grade year. What a difference a small school makes! She was never a discipline problem, although SAS is a place for kids that may have struggled with other issues as well. She simply was not getting the attention she needed to match her learning style. You should know that SAS gives 'credit toward graduation', every 3 weeks, and not letter grades. Keep in mind however, that in order to earn credit the student must MASTER the subject matter above 90%. In other words, no more pass-fail, no more C's, D's and F's and getting shuffled on to the next grade. This is A level learning. She is now a Junior and in Running Start. Excellent staff, amazing wholistic learning environment, the only Green school in Northshore.
