Very small class size, which allows for individualized instruction. Teacher and staff is great, but the president Chuck Bernstein, is not a very nice person, nor reasonable. Most of the time you do not have to deal with him, but when you do (sudden policy changes, requesting improvement, donating etc), it can be incredibly frustrating and stressful as you will not receive any respectful or thoughtfulness from this man handling the situation. As long as you can tolerate him and his unreasonable, pompous ways, it's a good school to be.

Quality academic programs. I like the individualized approach and the personal relationship the students have with the teachers. My child's progress has not been limited by curriculum standards. I also like that Emerson provides enrichment programs in the afternoons. In the summer they offer camps, too, which are a part of the program. It's a small school and it works for my child.

My child has been attending Emerson for several years. The program is individualized and enables my child to accelerate at his fast pace. The teachers are wonderful and help every child believe in himself/herself and learn their own potential. The whole-child approach lines up with my philosophy. Emerson has rich art, music, band, Spanish and Chinese programs, as well as science and engineering. I highly recommend Emerson!

My son is in his 4th year in Emerson school and is thriving. A child can progress at their own pace in Emerson school and it has benefited my son, who can see the results of his talent and efforts. Emerson has small classes, engaging teachers and programs that is individually adjusted to the child's needs, thus, my child is not bored and he is a grade ahead of his public school peers. Emerson offers Chinese and Spanish as foreign languages, professional music, art. My child enjoys the math- science the most, it is worked on in a 'real world' way and the child needs to understand what's behind the numbers. Emerson runs for 12 month a year, it is a long day school, 8.30-5.00, there is no homework and no tests. Emerson is suitable for kids who are independent learners who like challenges.
