As a former student, it is a great school, and like the comment below me, definately send your motivated kids here. The great thing is that even kids who aren't brilliant can find a comfortable place, because teachers want you to succeed. However, the new principal is a bit clueless as the atmosphere of the place. Be sure to become friends with the administration and teachers, get involved in some extracurriculars like Science Olympiad or National Junior Honor Society. But definately make sure to have friends from other schools as well, because DIB can get a bit cultish by eighth grade.

This is a phenomenal school. Teachers are for the most part great, leadership is outstanding, and it is small and gives the kids a tremendous suppport group. If you can get in, it is worth the effort. Your child will need to be self motivated and able to keep up with the curriculum (it is tough) but for the right child who need more of a challenge this will be a good fit.
