The school is very strict about not celebrating special occassions on campus to comply with healthier food from the school district. Although they sponsor events such as the carnival that will do cake walk and give out candies for prizes and sell ice creams on Fridays. As a parent, I feel that they are sending out mixed messages to both the students and the parents. Either you do or you don't.

Heritage elementary is a wonderful school. My daughter is in her 3rd year of the Spanish Immersion program and it has been an amazing experience for both her and us. We are incredibly proud to live in the community and be apart of this school. My daughter is excelling in both Spanish and English, she has many wonderful friends, the school is very well kept, and her teachers are amazing. We participate and volunteer in many of the schools programs. School for your children is what you make it to be. I greatly disagree with what was written, the teachers and staff wholeheartedly put the children first. It is their number one priority. When your child can't wait to wake up and go to school, you know they are in the right place.

Parents 'beware' administration doesn't like parent involvement. I had to remove my children from this school because of the lack of communication by admin., office staff and by teachers. They don't put children first. Staff is not friendly to parents. Teacher's put a lot of pressure on kids when it came to STARS testing. I got my children out of there! This school is a big mistake!

My 2nd and 4th graders moved to the area a little later and the year and my children and myself were treated like 'outsiders' from day one, by teachers students and staff. There was no effort to try to welcome my children or to catch them up on the curriculum from their previous school to this one. The teachers just let them sink in confusion.
