I ve had the honor of being a part of Thomas Sumter Academy for over thirty years, wearing many different hats as a parent, teacher, volunteer, grandparent, administrator, and now headmaster. I can say without a doubt that TSA has solid roots with a firm foundation built on academics, integrity, and honor. It has successfully weathered many trials and challenges because of the fierce loyalty and support of those who love it. We have very impressive numbers and facts, most notably accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools, more than $4.1 million in merit-based scholarships to our Class of 2008, 1180 average SAT for top 25% of Class of 2008, college preparatory and honors tracks as well as dual enrollment classes through the University of South Carolina, 29 sports teams, an on-site dance studio, and many clubs, organizations, and activities. But we re much more than statistics. The Spirit of TSA is very difficult to put into words, but it s the essence of who we are. It s a school where the entire football team rushes to the hospital when one of its players is injured, students wake up early once a week to pray with classmates and teachers, our students put themselves to work two weeks of every year to raise money for the battle against leukemia, and our teachers work because they love the children, not for the paycheck. Thomas Sumter Academy is made up of inspired students, an amazing faculty, giving parents, and God holding us all together; it doesn t get any better than that

I went to TSA for 15 years and loved every minute of it. TSA prepared me for college. I miss it :) GO GENERALS Class of 2009
This past weekend I knew I was teaching at the right school after participating in their annual Fall Festival. It just reinterates the feelings I have for this school and continues to show how much our school has a family atmosphere and caring parents, teachers, and friends. I am so grateful to be a part of this faculty and will continue to spread the word about our 'little school' on the 'big Hill' known as TSA. Thanks. TSA is a great school that prepares you for the future. I attended schools in 6 different states and found TSA to be the most challenging. TSA offers a variety of college level courses (not just AP courses) that allow you to enter into college as a sophomore. TSA has a great reputation in College admissions. I found that Clemson has an easier work/ course load than TSA. I came to college better prepared and graduated near the top of my class at Clemson (many freshman fail out of Clemson within the first semester due to the increase in work load from public high school to college). I will always remember my days on The Hill . I thank TSA for providing me with all of the opportunities I have now.
