Awesome school. Teachers obviously love to be at work. Academics are encourage and the science is awesome. The principal knows all the kids by their first name. Bullying is not tolerated. My child cried and cried to go to her last school adn here she is excited and excelling. They truly care about your child and her teachers have given her the extra push so she does not get board.
I absolutely love this school. This is our first year attending, I have two children currently enrolled. My son in the 1st and my daughter in the 5th. Both are enjoying themselves and excelling in all the new areas they have been introduced to. We are so glad we switched from our last school to a magnet school. The first impression I got was from the office staff. They greet you with enthusiam and knowledge. Which was hugely lacking in the last school we attended. I like the fact that the principal isnt a micro manager. The teachers are wonderful about letting you know early on, if your child is having problems, either socially or academicaly. We regard this school as the fun school and are grateful to have been selected to attend here. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is thinking of applying for a magnet program.
The magnet program at Walter Bracken is excellent. The teachers, staff and principal are always helpful and really care about the success of my children. At this school children are encouraged to learn and their creativity is not discouraged. They manage to do this while still maintaining high expectations for discipline. Great School!!
My son is going to enter the 2nd grade this year, and has been enjoying Bracken since Kindergarten. All of his Teachers have been exceptional, as well as the staff.I couldn't be happier that he is attending Bracken once again, there is a special vibe you get once you enter the campus.The parent involvement is stupendous! and THAT is what makes it a terrific school!! Mrs. Decker is great, she walks the playground in the morning greeting all students, and parents with a great big welcome smile-and mostly knows all by their first name.The challenges are great for the kids- and knowledge is the key to their future.This school should receive a medal- and the test scores prove it...
