Children are taught to think for themselves. Highly recommend. Both of my children attend. Lots of personal attention given with an emphasis on letting the child learn at their own speed so they fully understand and can apply what they have learned. You end up having a competent child how can think on their feet and apply their knowledge, not a parrot who studies for a test and can regergetate the items he memorized but cannot apply them in life.

Brighten's academic programs allow the student to work at their own pace. This works well for some, but for others, it may not have enough structure for a student who really needs guidance. Their programs include music, art, a CIF football team, and more outings than I have seen in any other school. Their approach to learning is much more 'hands-on' than just reading textbooks and doing worksheets. Parents are encouraged to become involved with the students and the school.
