Well, well, stop whining so much and listen. Both of my children have attending Norcross elementary since kindergarten and I'm satisfied and great full to the wonderful teachers that Norcross elementary has. Yes, most of their curriculum is based on 'CRCT' and nothing else but overall, this is a great elementary school, both of my children have exceeded in their test scores and if you guys have the opportunity and have the money to put your children in private school, go ahead.
I totally disagree with these reviews since my child has learnt a lot from this school - My child always and let me repeat ALWAYS SCORES BEYOND THE EXPECTED LEVEL in all of her CRCT and other national examination - Education starts at home and we always abide by this motto - thus my child not only fares well in these tests but well versed in all the other subjects - The teachers of NES are very caring and they go above and beyond their realm of duty to help students to are willing to excel - Starting from Dr. Hill the principal to all the teachers at NES has treated my kid and us with due care and respect - Given the limitations this school is doing a tremendous job - And finally most of the nobel laureates were not born with silver spoons in their mouth -
We am winding up our first year are NES. I am disappointed with the curriculum. i have to agree with the comment from 5 years ago. We are more concerned with passing Georgia standardized test as oppose to learning. I guess I should not expect much from a school system that is ranked one of the worst in the country. It may be one of the best in GA but look at where GA is ranked. I grew up in public schools and feel that the children sttending public schools should be getting a great education. I am not the average parent...I spend tons of time with my child. She has gone from getting solid A's to mediocre B's and stresses about the standardized test.
my child went to this school for 3 years. after the third year i chose private school and soon moved out of that district to another county offering more of a racial and econimic balance. my child was starting to learn how to be a thug and hip hop star more than learning to read and write. i am grateful we got out of there.
