A previous poster said that silent transition at DMS is akin to a jail environment. I vehemently disagree with that statement. I was there many times when the students changed classes, and saw, first hand that silent transition at DMS is balanced. The faculty are not obsessive about every murmur or whisper, but there is an orderly transition to classes, and no opportunity, that I can see, for bullying. If this were a jail environment I d be getting my son out of there. That kind of statement has actually caused me trepidation when I ve looked for a good school (neighborhood) for my children, and have read that sort of thing on this web site.

its a good school but its too strict and some teachers tend to be unfair take it from a student in 7th grade who went this past year!

I am a parent of two children in this school. We just relocated down here a little over a year ago. Duluth Middle is an excellent school over all. Keeping you informed of your child's grades at least weekly via email. And they also try to curb any failing by letting you know early if there is any trouble with your child. Bullying can happen anywhere, it's what you teach your child to do about the situation. School lunch is nothing to complain about, I remember when I was in middle school and we didn't have a choice what we ate or drank. Be real this is a public school, and a great one in the area. My only complaint would be just to offer a field trip or two for each grade level. And to offer sports to all grade levels.
