My children attended BSS from K4-8th. The curriculum prepares them for high school. BSS is a Catholic school so the doctrine is Catholic - why would it be anything else? Non-Catholic classmates were not treated differently. Yes, it would be good to have had a fancy playground, but I prefer money spent on learning activities, not playground equipment. I do understand that there are plans to upgrade the playground. Just a note about academic testing - BSS administers the ITBS in September-October, so any score equal to the current grade is above average since the student is only weeks into that grade. As I read the reviews, there is one consistency - it appears that all of the negative reviews come from parents who are 'school jumpers' (i.e., BSS was not the first school in which their children had been enrolled!). BSS offers consistency - in academics, discipline, and respect.

My son gos to BSS and loves it! His teachers are wonderful! They are not only concerned with academics and religious education, they are also very concerned with character development. Personal responsibility and ettiquette are addressed in all of their activities. The overall climate of the school is warm, thoughtful, and caring. I am very confused and disheartened to read some of the negative reviews posted on this site. I have never experienced anything negative about this school. The parents in my son's class are a wonderful group of hard-working people - not snobby and certainly not competitive. I agree that the playground could use some extras, however; I provide a safe and fun play area at home and there are many public parks for outside fun! I would not weigh my decision on what the playground looks like. Visit the school and observe happy, well-mannered, bright children at work!

My two children attend this school, so I was deeply upset when I read the bad reviews. You should see this school for yourself. I visited 9 schools before settling on this one. The kids manners are wonderful and the kids are very happy and have a true love for life. Yes, they don't have a fancy playground but they play together. The classes are a little bigger than most schools but the kids do get one on one and if there is a problem with your child, you are addressed. My kids have flourshed greatly in the last three years. We are not catholic, but love the discipline. So, if you are looking for a school for your child, come and see the school for yourself! And the National testing scores are above average!
