I am a parent of a 2nd grader. Teachers are motivated to help each individual student. Classes in math and reading are broken up into several abllity groups so like minded/academically similar students work together and feed of each others knowledge. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their sucess and teachers work toward enabling the students to achieve some academic independence and to take responsibility for their in-school as well as out of school work.
