I have two children who went to Ledesma, and they both had very good experiences there. They've both gone on to be successful in academics (more so in math and science, less so in language arts). The school has a nice diversity and feels safe and friendly.
This is my daughter's 2nd year at Ledesma and we have no complaints. Her kinder teacher was the Best and we know her 1st grade teacher from last year and we couldn't be happier with the teacher our daughter has this year. We hope that with the new principal things will only improve.
I have two daughters going here one in kinder and one in 1st grade and i have to disagree with the parent below who stated that minorities get left out. My daughters are both hispanic and have not felt any discrimination at all from staff or students. My 1st grader was struggling in her academics and the principal, teacher and entire staff did everything they could to make sure she got all the help she needed to get up to speed including pulling in outside resources. I am totally statisfied with ledesma and both of my children have grown so much from all the care and attention they have both recieved. Parental involvement is a huge key in any childs success.. so with the two supports any child can succeed at this school and any other with this kind of care.
This is my child's first year at Ledesma. She is in kindergarten and her teacher and the other kinder teachers are WONDERFUL with her. The children are all friends and I love the way they interact with each other. The curriculum is so advanced from when I went to school. I think it is wonderful that they learn math, reading and writing and even history. The teachers also work with the children at the level the child is at. My daughter is more advanced with her reading...so they started her reading earlier than the regular curriculum would recommend. I really like this school!
