I just think if you can go anywhere else, please do. Some of the teachers are excellent, but some need to move on, because they cannot adapt to different needs children. If you have a special needs child, they will try to get by with the minimum- not offering you everything available for your child- rather try to save money and push your child through the system. If you go here, KNOW YOUR PARENTAL RIGHTS AND ALL THE LEGAL RIGHTS YOU HAVE. And, they don't punish bullies, but rather the victims for being tattletales.

I am impressed with Bangor school. My daughters were in the middle high school the communication at that level is not the best. My son is in elementary school (going into second grade) and the communication is much better. He had an excellent kindergarten and first grade teacher. They made sure he was challanged and did not get bored (even thou he was several reading levels above the other kids in the class)
As a first year parent of a student who transferred to Bangor Elementary, I have tried to reserve judement. However, as the school year came to a close I have found myself more and more disappointed with many things. Mainly the comminication with our son's third grade teacher and the curriculum. We found homework to be redundant and uninteresting and report card marks to be arbitrary at best. That being said - I would like to express a word of thanks to the music and PE teachers who my son is quite fond of and who seem to shed some positive light on the school experience.
