The atmoshere at Excelsior is small, organized, friendly and GOAL oriented. I am most pleased with this school, I don't know what I'd do without it!!!
This school is one of the best in the county if not the state for it's unique independent study program. Students and parents are given more than enough support for the child's success. Staff genuinely cares for the student's well being. The school is also the safest school in the area. They encourage students to take college courses at the nearby city college. Progress reports are given at least once every month. Teachers are caring, competent, and professional. Leadership is solid as well.' We love the school and its teachers. Our children are thriving and exploring new options they have never had before. The music program needs major tweaking, but it is a flegling program and will get better. In spite of the recent cutbacks, we are sending our kids back, they wouldn't have it any other way anyhow! Pray this year is better than the last and if there are new safety concerns, as a parent, I want to know what is being done to improve that situation if it exists. We are committed to helping in that arena if we are needed. Staff uplift and encourage their students, that's something we love to see because that is what we want our kids to do for others as well.
