This school stinks! For years they've had the surrounding areas fooled into thinking they were so superior, but now the cat is out of the bag because the school information is public. Everyone can see just how it measures up tp other schools. Many other schoold have far better test scores than this school. Inside the school always smells like food, and some of the teachers scream, play,and laugh worse than the kids. The curriculum is too full. They use that stupid TERC for math, and the children are missing so much, and they don't do well when they get to sixth grade. There's hardly any homework, so the parents don't have a way to help their children. The cafeteria is very loud. I've been to the school looking for an administrator, to find NONE on campus. What if there were an emergency? That seems like it should be illegal.
One of my children has moved on from this school and the other is currently attending Wynne Intermediate. Both of my children are receiving a good education based on a rigorous curriculum. The math program is excellent in that it allows students to think and solve problems in a variety of strategies. My chldren function on a math level that at times amazes me. The reading program focuses on allowing students to read on their instructional level and progress to higher levels of achievement. The writing skills that my children have developed are the results of a great deal of time and instruction from the highly qualified teachers that my children have been fortunate to have. No school is perfect; however, no school is entirely responsible for a child's education. The value of a good education begins at home and is supported in the classroom. Wynne Intermediate supports our educational values.
