This school is obsessed with the kids and watches everything they do and goes into the childrens personal lives very creepy

WMS is highly overrated. The spanish and algebra 1 students go to the local high school and must repeat these courses due to the poor preoparation in the middle school. Students must now pay to play sports. The new band program is excellent, however. The principal tries very hard to meet both parents and teachers in meeting students needs. Parental involvement is sporadic, though improving on all levels, due to financial constraints and the ever increasing need for fundraisers.

I believe that this school has a great system. It has well-rounded acedemic classes and programs. The extra curricular activities are limitless with sports, public speaking, band, skiing, bicycling, etc. The parents are kept informed and are allowed to speak with teachers about their child, the student. It is a wonderful school system. The only problem is the recess. It is ridiculous! These kids are outside in 30 degree weather for ten minutes, they don't have a choice! It's no wonder that so many students are hiding out in the bathroom, they want to avoid the cold. You send them in the cafeteria for twenty minutes, it takes five minutes to get through the line, then you shoo them into the freezing weather after they have only 15 minutes to eat!Teachers are giving them detentions for hiding from the freezing cold in the bathrooms! They should have a choice! They shouldn't have to go outside if they don't want to!Afterall, it is freezing weather.Haven't you ever heard of indoor-recess?

Woodstock Middle School is one of the best schools that I have seen in Connecticut. The students are all great and there are very few problems. There are many after school clubs and activities that students can join. The teachers are wonderful too. They are all great with the students and are willing do anything for them. There is a great Special Education Department to give the students that need that extra help. The Principal, Paul Gamache, is a great leader of the school. He can go overboard on discipline at times but is widly respected by the students. To sum it all up, the WMS is a great school for students to go to. Woodstock is also a wonderful town to live in!
