Both my children attended College Hills Elementary School.......The school was very innovative, had committed teachers and provided an exciting environment for the children. At the present time, my grandson attends College Hills. I am impressed with their small classes and individual attention given to each child...He is so excited in the mornings to get to his class! There is a teacher for each student in resource classes and other special needs classes. There are music, art, and PE classes for all ages, including the kindergarteners. Their playgrounds provides equipment that contributes to their imagination and role-playing....College Hills is an A+ school!

This is THE BEST elementary school! When we bought our house, we told the realtor to show us homes only if they were within the College Hills elementary school attendance zone. The faculty and staff have great relationships with the parents and students. I have always felt welcome and appreciated whenever I have been able to participate in school activities.

This is a great school, however, if your child has ADD or other special needs, you will be in for the fight of your life to get help. Getting the counselor to do her job to get the ball rolling and to provide you with information (that you shouldn't have to ask for) will be the biggest hurdle you will encounter. If you don't know what an ARD is and what it involves and what your rights are don't expect the counselor to assist you unless you specifically ask in writing what it is you need. The only problem is, you won't know what to ask for because it'll all be new to you and you won't know what to ask for. Start with the school's Assessment Office, they might be more helpful. The web is also resourceful in this area.

My family has really enjoyed being part of this school. The setting is in a safe neighborhood on a one way with lots of trees providing a buffer between the school and residential areas. The principal is very active and visible at school events and even participates in meetings. The PTO is very active and sends out regular e-mail updates, a real plus for working parents. The teachers are experienced and caring. The curriculum is challenging and encourages parent involvement.
