i attended consolidated. it is a rich preppy school, but it was some of the best years of my life. very cultured and diverse, and quite safe. awesome sports program and plenty of academic challenges available including AP courses for college. awesome

It is one of the best public schools in the state and a great school to attend. Many of the students' parents work with the university...so academics is a great priority for most families. They have one of the highest numbers of national merit scholars of any school and also place 1st or 2nd in academic competitions annually. Those who want their children to attend one of the top schools in the state and have their children grow up in a safe and exciting community...this is it! There is also a large international population that the university brings in so children will have friends from around the world. The students may be a little snobby, but they have a lot of competition amongst eachother. They know if they attended another school that they would not have to work at hard to make the top 10 percent.

My daughter is a Freshman this year and has been told by at least 2 teachers that they do not 'have time' for tutorial sessions. One is too busy prepping her kids for a competition to be held next March. Admin is aware of it and nothing is done to encourage these teachers to help 'teach' the newbies. Hopefully we will move next summer.
I was a substitute at Consol in 2006. At the time, I thought the students were a little arrogant and snotty. I now work in a very disadvantaged district, and in retrospect, Consol was a fantastic school. The students only seemed arrogant because they were so bright and well educated that it was difficult to keep them challenged. Arguably one of the best schools I have ever seen.
