The team of teachers our child had in 6th grade were outstanding! However, making sure the child got into that class was not an easy task. After a year of calling the counselor every 3 months prior to attending the school, and several other meetings... we were successful. It is common practice for the school to group students from out of town under certain teachers, and the students from in town were grouped with other teachers. We are from out of town and our child was the only one in the 'in town' classrooms. Moral: if you find a team of great teachers, do not give up and accept where the school puts your child. Keep calling and going in to the school - your child deserves to have great teachers too!
