All three of my children have attended James R. Tate Elementary. They are bright and personable children who were taught well and very loved during their time at Tate. The school is rurally located with many students in poverty. I think that must make it very challenging for the teachers, but you would not know it if you visited there. Most of the staff is very friendly and loving to the students. I have always felt welcome there. The school has several parent events and encourages all families to get involved.

This school is nothing but wonderful! The staff is very courteous and helpful. I can guarantee they are doing ALL they can to help their students be the best. I wish all schools could be like Tate.

I had the experience of working briefly at this school, and I was not impressed. Though the teachers seemed to really care about their students, there is not a sense of team work between the teachers. If you are not 'on the inside' you are not spoken to, and feel very much unwelcome. This makes it difficult to perform your job without the support of those you work with and this will affect other area of the school. Their lunchroom and school bus/car rider dismissal time is very chaotic and noisy. I found it upsetting that many first graders were not able to read their name. Very low students and behavior problems.
