I thought I am doing my son something good with putting him into that school. Well, found out that is was the other way around. Like couple other parents I have to say that there is no teacher-pupil-principal interaction. The kids can do what they want to, how they want to and when they want to do it, literally. We choose this school because of the ratings. The teachers are old, a lot of them, cant control the children, have not clue how and what to teach them. The classes are loud, my child cant concentrate because other kids are mouthing of to the teacher and are loud and do their own thing in class. Parents do not get informed about anything, nobody really cares either. Yes you can sign up for online reports but if the teachers dont put any in we dont get informed.

This school saddens me. The teachers are there for a pay check. Many times my child has asked for help but they dont have time..I hate this school. The AP there is sorry and he doesn't care about improving the school

Im an eighth grader at UGMS and having been here I think that this a fairly good school. Depending on what level of classes you take really affects what you learn though. I find that having all pre-AP classes has really helped me and couldn't imagine having regular classes. If you take a Pre-AP class the teacher will have more energy and a higher willingness to teach that class. Also there are less kids in a Pre-AP class and that's definitely helped since there are over 1000 people going to this school. Lunch can be chaotic. The lines are really long and you have to go outside and around the building to get back to class. Aside from that, this school is far better from anything else in the school district.

UGMS is overall a great school. The teachers are nice and enjoy doing thier jobs, from what I can tell. There are many teams and clubs you can join. The music teachers excell at what they do. Depending on how well you work during class depends on how much homework you get. most teachers give out weekly homework that is given on Monday and is due Friday. Homework is also given when a student has to finish something they didn't during class. (they would just finish the work they didn't get to.) A student will spend on average no more than 1 hour on homework. the administrators are always on thier toes taking care of our school. In Killeen UG is known as the 'It' school, or the school everyone wants to or enjoys to go to. keep up the good work Union Grove!
