Excellent Principal! Many dedicated teachers, a few mediocre ones. Great Staff - very supportive in moving parerwork setting up meetings, etc.. Poor, poor, poor handling of bullying. Sneaky, mean, violent kids operating under the radar and no one see's or does anything. Must stop the violence so ALL of the kids can concentrate on academics with NO FEAR of their safety, EVERYDAY. I''m so glad we've graduated and moved on!! My prayers to those still in it.

Woodland Middle School has become, in four years, under excellent and progressive new leadership, the best academic performing middle school in southern Fulton County Schools on standardized tests and other academic measures. It has made AYP each year meeting not only state and federal requirements, but has exceeded those requirements in each subject area tested by Georgia's curriculum. Woodland is the subject of a national documentary highlighting turnaround schools and commended as model for other middle schools around the country with similar demographics(produced by TBS). Woodland has been in the local and national news four times for its excellent interventions to catch students up and turnaround programs, including its well managed student body. Its new principal and restructured staff have been praised by Superintendent Cox,Secretary Spellings, and Superintendent Wilson. The faculty and administrators have the best attendance record in the entire school district. Woodland is on the brink of excellence!

Hi! I'm not a parent but, I am a 2005 graduate from WMS. I've attended Woodland Middle School for 3 years. Overall the school is alright. There are some things that needs to change like for instance the Principal. But on the good side Woodland have a ton of after-school activities. This year I was on student council(SGA), newspaper club, yearbook club, art club, and book club. We have an awesome chorus, band, and orchrestra. The chorus have won many competitions. Ms. Harbin makes learning music fun in a relaxed environment. And a helpful foriegn language program. I had French. It was really difficult. Alot of the sudents didn't care for it. The teachers and the staff make learning really fun. All of my teachers had a good personality. They provide us(students) with tons of trips. This year as a end-of-the- year trip we went to Savanna.
