I am not a parent but i am a student at SLHS. I am a sophmore and all I can say is the school is thebest hands down! The teachers are great, and fair. the halls are a little crowded but oh well. TheGerman Club is awesome!!!
We have had a very good experience for the last 3 years and this is our senior year. It has been a good atmosphere, teachers accessible. The music program has been very good for our son.
Academic programs - pretty good, excellent in some areas. Some teachers waste time in the longer block periods by having kids do homework instead of engaging in relevant activities or instruction. Homework is to be done at home. If some students need extra help, they can always see the teacher on their own. Girls' tennis should be funded! That is unfair and absurd!
Both of my sons attend(ed) Standley Lake H.S. and one graduated in 2001 the other a sophomore. I have had nothing but fantastic experience with teachers, counselors, coaches and other parents. My older son has great memories and my younger is forming them. Teachers have high expectations and make the kids live up to them. Coaches stress teamwork and good grades
