I've been going to carver for 3 years now and it's really great school with excellent teachers who really do spend and sacrifice a lot of their time with students. However, I do have to say that because its military and public,it really doesn't balance out right. Some of the higher J.R.O.T.C staff primarily focus on the military and West Point rather than college like they claim but its not true. Just they claim to focus on raising ACT scores, which is true on the schools part, but the J.R.O.T.C side isn't all that concerned. I think that they need to change the higher J.R.O.T.C staff within the school who really care about the students going to college.

Regardless of Carver's old reviews, I think this school is fantastic. This place a turned my whole life around and opened my eyes to where I was leading myself in life. The activities at this school help keep you out of the streets [unless the cadet is fairly unreasonable and hard headed] I advise the cadets to choose their paths wisely and to keep in mind that they chose this school. If complaints start to follow of how strict Carver is, it's on them. They chose to attend a Military Academy.

I go to Carver Miltary Academy and it is a great school it has control, discipline, and leadership not only in the staff but in the students as well. it is sometimes better to walk down the halss and see order better then chaos. Many might not like it especially some of the students because of the uniform but I would rather wear a uniform, than wear something I might get shot for. the staff is works hard, extracurricular activities (like the raiders), and overall kids learn.

contrary to what other parents might think, i like this school very much, they have created a safe learning enviroment for kids in the south side of chicago. the staff is very friendly and respectful,(except the asst.principal) i would recomend this school to anybody that wants or expects the best from a public school...
