High Point Elementary School

My daughter has been going to HPE since 1st grade and is now in 2nd grade. I initially had reservations about HPE but boy, was I in for a surprise. The teaching staff is enthusiastic and supportive, the educational programs are comprehensive and the extra curricular activities plentiful. The school is multi-ethnic with a great bunch of students. Lots of effort is made to improve all students- my daughter was a bit behind in math but the school has had a lot of programs to help her improve and she is now getting straight As in math. While no school is perfect and as a parent you always keep wanting the best for your kids, I have to say that HPE is a very good school - I look forward to sending my younger son to HPE next year.

I have a first grader and a third grader. Both have been at High Point since kindergarten. We love High Point and would choose to move into the district if we didn't already live here. What I like best about High Point is that each child is taught at their level, the administration is supportive and available, and the students are friendly, kind, respectful, and grateful. No school is perfect. Every school and every person has room for improvement. But, as a school, High Point comes pretty close to perfection as does Lisa Nash as a principal. If you are considering High Point, please take the time to visit the campus and to talk to the parents who have chosen to have their kids there.

Wow....has the school changed for the better over the past couple years! When I first sent my child to High Point, I was one of the few in my neighborhood to do so. everyone else was doing private. At the time, High Point was overcrowded and had a large transient population. The experience my child has received over there is incredible! The teachers are loving & suppportive, and i would challenge anyone to find a better principal anywhere. My child has been learning a full grade above level at High Point due to the excellent teaching and committment to excellence. I think it's worth a gander if you live in the area to look again. You might be surprised at what you find there!

We relocated from Henderson NV, where my son attended a private school (the Henderson Internaitonal School) , and I could not made a better choice. My son loves everyone in this school, I always keep my son on the next level, at home we are teaching him 4th grade math and language arts. We are a multi racial household, but I keep my son ahead of his shool year because, my son is 8 years old curetly in 3rd grade and reading at an AR level of 5th grade. I understand the concern of htis being a community shcool. I agree the distric should be more forward to determine the household geographical attendance. THose who invest in their communities should reap the benefits of thier efforts. I have not seen major score testing, and I do not think my child has not enough homework.
