I'm a freshman this year, and so far, so good! At first, it took time adjusting, but after a week, it was okay. What I really liked was the more mature atmosphere. While some public schools have drugs, fighting, and girls getting pregnant, you don't really expect this from Charter. Mostly everyone that's here cares about their education. Also, the uniform is pretty lenient. You don't have to tuck your uniform shirt and for pants, you don't have to stick to the plain khaki pants. Also, if the work is hard, you can always phase down and vice versa. The only thing is the teaching methods. It's a bit different then what I'm used to and some teachers don't explain concepts thoroughly, but that problem is solved by going after school for study sessions. Plus, the cafeteria food isn't that bad and the pizza's pretty good. :D

Charter is academically challenging and a big lesson of responsibility. As a graduating senior, I'd have to say that the workload is as large as you set your standards to be, and that you're surrounded by people who actually care about doing their best :) mostly.

Charter may seem very good academically because of their national ranking, but the success is really due to the hardworking students. Many of the teachers do not teach and expect students to know everything for a test. There is an unreasonable amount of workload and the grades are much lower in comparison to other local high schools. The students are very nice though. Bottom line: Only go if you want to be academically challenged.
