My son is in the 2nd grade at SDE and has always done well since kindergarden, and I believe that his kindergarden teacher, Mrs. Horne, and also 1st grade teacher Chris Graham had alot to do with his progress. They have really boosted his self-esteem. But this year the only reports I get from his current teacher are bad about everything, things the others had bragged on him about. I do not understand why. He is an honor roll student and he is in gifted classes. I know that my child is not perfect, but it makes no sense for a teacher to degrade a student in front of the entire class causing embarrasment. The school in itself is a very good school in ways, the other problem I have with it is we have no field trips out of town, all of the other neighboring schools go on at least 2 or 3 a year.
We have been at South Dodge for 2 years now,I have been pleased with the progress that my child has made. The teachers are always striving to make sure the childern get the the best they have to offer. I am proud to say my child goes to South Dodge Elementary School.
