Booker Elementary School

Every day that you enter Booker Elementary you are greeted by everyone with a smile. The teachers are professional and love all of the children. When any students have behavior or learning problems the parents are notified and they work very hard to help parents find ways to get their children 'back on track'. I have loved every teacher that my son has had and look forward to seeing them in the halls when I go to visit. I am sorry to see Mrs. Selden go but know that Booker would only hire another wonderful principal to continue working with our teachers and children.

My daughter just passed the 5th grade from Booker. She has been there for all 6 years at Booker. When we moved out of the district, I got permission for her to keep attending at Booker because the quality of instruction here is excellent. There are classes for art, music and book clubs. The teachers also have classes after school for those who need help. The teachers are the best I have seen. I have older children who attended other schools and Booker tops them all.

I enrolled my children in this school because of the recent attention given. 6 years ago, Booker was below the state average and now is competitive with the rest of the state. An emphasis is place on academics and parent involvement. Extracurricular activities and sports are minimal but are foreseen to improve. The school is also set in an area of Hampton, VA known as Fox Hill. Which in itself is very involved in youth sports and extracurriclar activities. My wife and I did our homework before moving here and without a doubt know we made an excellent choice.
