I was very unhappy with this school. Staff is inflexible. Some parents are very Cliquish which is unfortunate, but I suppose you get that any school.

I agree with the staff seeming inflexible. This school sets extremely high expectations; that's why we chose it for our children. The school can only look good 'On Paper' if the students are performing well, and that requires the children, staff, and parents working continuously, and vigorously together. Like everyone else has stated; this school is certainly not for everyone, but if your child thrives in a very challenging, and structured atmosphere then this is definitely the right school. There aren't a lot of disruptions during class time, the teachers are focused, the children are held accountable for their behavior, they have great assemblies with many guest speakers, and the kids learn that they have to work hard and stay focused in order to succeed. Our family loves this school and our children have truly learned outstanding study habits!

I absolutely agree with the June 2005 parent review of Hollow Hills. It is not a school for children with any kind of learning disability. When you sign up in kindergarten, these difficulties are not always evident. The administration weeds out the students who are unable to produce good test scores. That is one reason Hollow Hills looks good on paper-and the students who burn out transfer to other schools. I have one ADHD/Austistic son- who transfered out of Hollow Hills in 1rst grade. I also have a gifted son with ADHD-who transfered out of HH after 5th grade. It was not a good experience- and it had nothing to do with lack of parent involvement or caring! I found the administration and teachers inflexible. This is school in not for most students.

True, this school is not for everybody. This school demands that the parents are very involved in their child's education. If you want to drop your child off at school and let the teachers do all the work than this school is not for you. The increased parental involvement and strictness is evident in the overall attitude and respect the children have for adults and peers. Previous comments comparing the principal to a dictator is unfounded. The expectations of parents and students are presented prior to admission. Our son and daughter attend and for the past 5 years we have had nothing but praise for the higher standards of character and education this school demands. In addition many Family Events are planned throughout the year including the Mother-son bowling night, Father-daughter dance, festivals, art shows, just to name a few. It shows that fun and education can go hand in hand!
