We have been at Los Ranchos for 4 years now. I believe that it is about as good as a public school is capable of being. The teachers are so amazing, and the Principal is an equal advocate for staff and student. The creativity that the teachers have creates a fun learning environment. The parent involvement is really high. You tend to have to 'fight' to get some volunteer time in. ha. My daughter loves school because of Los Ranchos!
This school is often out of touch with reality. I have seen above average children recipients of more educational attention than those with special needs. Teachers will send students off to receive additional aid without parental knowledge. Shouldn t the parent be informed if their child is lacking a skill? While my children have had primarily positive experiences at this school, I would like to see a more realistic educational system in play. As an active participant for the past 7 years, the changes that need to be made are fought by some staff, negating what is best for the children.

Academically the school is outstanding. The staff are all very experienced and quality teachers. Unfortunately, the majority of the students come from very effluent homes and this has had numerous positive and negative results. Students many times lack a sense of respect and responsibility. Parents are always willing to throw money into many events, but the actual physical participation is seriously lacking.
