My child was in private school from 2000-2007. In 2007, we took her out private school and sent her to Eva Turner. I made it a point to talk to the principal as well as the teachers. I wasn t going to send her there but after talking to Mrs. Morgan, she told me to give it a chance. I am glad that I did, we have some minor issues as you would in any school, but overall it was good for her to be in public school. I did address the fact that Eva Turner was a ghetto school. She told me and I agree that the neighborhood might be ghetto, but the school is not. Also, I addressed the test scores, they were low. They are a Title 1 school, which means, many students are in poverty and they receive additional money for various programs. Some scores also reflect that

Because this is a school without walls it can be very difficult to teach and hear students with other classrooms so nearby. I wish that the teachers could spend more one on one time with students instead of leaving them on their own to finish assignments that they may not understand. More teacher assistants (IA's) would be nice to help with this problem when the teachers are with reading groups and cannot be distrubed. I don't like the idea that this is an inclusion school and that is what causes a lot of the classroom interruptions. Please be an active parent and visit your childs classroom unannounce on several different occasions at this school and any other schools they may attend.
