This school has top SAT and ACT scores as well as good teachers. There are a number of students not motivated to become anything nor any life goals and cause trouble for the 90% that do and take up a lot of admin time to deal with. Athletes at ALL schools placed on a pedistal so this complaint is universal. Considering all the problems this state has funding the needs for buildings, materials and teachers this school has done so much with so little, I have a daughter that has her name on the walls of the shcool now for 1320 SAT score she took in 10th grade. Biggest problem the motiovated students deal with are the violent drug dealing unmotivated kids that cause so much trouble.
We have had terrible experiences with this school. The teachers seem to care, although they lack the authority to control their classes. My daughter an A student in honors classes was discouraged from attending after she was ill and missed 6 weeks. On a regular basis I picked up and returned her work, yet the counselour spoke with me, and said if she is not going to take school seriously she should just drop out. A friend while receiving his Masters in Education interned here. Basically, he was not allowed to teach and had to spoon feed the answers to the kids. Discouraged, he doesn't teach. Athletes not scholars are recognized and encouraged. Unless your child is a star athlete don't send them here.
This school is amazing! The people who think is horrible don't have a clue what they are talking about! The outdoor campus is beautiful, the teachers are amazing and guidance is always looking out for students best interest! I would highly recommend attending this school, because the students and the staff are extremely welcoming.

I went to Carolina Forest for two years and the school is awesome. There are some really wonderful teachers who genuinely care about their student's success. The only thing that bothered me was guidance's attitude towards college. They almost discouraged students from applying to reach or dream schools instead of trying to pump them up. It's obviously not a preparatory school, but the facilities and faculty are still great. Highly recommended! Take Ginger Jacobs for any science possible!
