My son is new to RTCS this year. The staff is nice and mostly fair. The prinicpal and assistant principle are good and responsive. Whenever a child transitions to middle school, there are adjustments. RTCS does a good job in presenting a challenging curriculum, yet balancing that with fun activities. If your kids go to school here, I recommend that you keep extra curricular activities to a minimum. If you do that, then the workload is reasonable. If you are the type of parent that enrolls your child in a lot of extra curricular activities, then RTCS may be too much. I feel that schoolwork is the most important thing. One or two outside activities is fine, and necessary, but if you go overboard with that, then a child of this age will not be able to excel at academics.

Great school! I would recommend it highly. Only problem I see is no lockers and the backpacks are ridiculously heavy.

Rising Tide is a great school with small class sizes and a wonderful teaching and office staff. That being said, for some reason there is a huge turnover in teachers and office staff. The school does not seem to be able to keep its employees. Also, there is an incredibly long school day. School starts at 7:40am and runs until 3:15pm. Add in bussing time, and that leaves no time for any activities outside of school.

I think that this school is the best one I have ever been to! Other than the fact that there is no lockers, I love it! It sends out monday memo's every monday for you as a parent to see what your child will be doing that week and other important stuff. Also they have band which I play in, as a flute player. The director is so great! They have a great discover period that lets your child have an extra activity at the end of the day. The only thing (pretty much) that I have aproblem with is the lunch program because it really stinks! Also the school gets out at 3:10 (I think) and I ushaly get off the bus after my younger sister (keyword: younger)! I think the bus ride is very long! And my bus driver is nice but doesn't really pay attention to the kids.
