My son started here this fall as a new 7th grader. So far I am not impressed. The 7th grade has to take a mandatory math enrichment class to enhance their math skills due to poor scores on the TAKS test. This keeps them from being able to have any electives. They spend 2 periods in language arts and reading and 2 in math. My son transferred in from another district and is learning things he learned in 5th grade in the math enrichment class. So far, I am not impressed. He is able to take AP math and has access to 4 AP classes but it would be nice for all of his hard work to be able to have an art class or Spanish as an elective. Maybe they should be able to test out of this math enrichment class.

My son started school here a week 1/2 ago. When he comes home from school he never has anything negative to say. As a parent that is great news. When I enrolled him everyone I met including students and faculty staff were very polite. I had checked on another school before this one. HIM AND I JUST DID NOT GET THE SAME GREAT FEELING AS WE DID at Chisolm Trail. I want to thank everyone at the school who made us feel very welcomed. We could not ask for a better school. CTMS is a great school! My daughter loves it. They offer a great drama department. They offer many extra classes and they have a wonderful sports department. As far as education goes she learns a lot and the teachers offer help in the class room and before and after school! This is a great school if you are looking for one!
