This school has a lot of parent involvement, high SES, and bright students. However, much of the teaching, based on my child's experience, is mediocre. My child receives a great deal of work with copyright dates from 1992; work from 1992 cannot be meeting 2008 standards. It doesn't seem like the principal knows what's going on in classrooms. He's a very nice man, but it seems like the teachers run the shcool, not him. The district recently adopted new social studies and science curriculums, but my child is receiving copied items from days gone by. Litel is our neighborhood school, but I find myself wishing it was not. With demographics like we have our students should be scoring much higher on state tests.

I feel this school does strive to give quality education. However, I have found some teachers using screaming more than respect to get the class quite. I also feel that principal is not respected by many of the children. He has not done a good job of explaining to the students why some things were changed, not that change is always bad. I feel many of the changes have been positive, but the children can not understand it with out an explanation.

Litel is an outstanding school due to the great partnerships of parents & teachers. The teachers at this school at caring and committed. My compliments to the office staff also. They are the best.
