I transfered my son here from a charter school and despite it's location, it was an awesome school. Ms cook was my son's 1st grade teacher and she was deligent, caring, dedicated and made it obvious through her actions that she loved her job. My son scored higher on the state tests here and obtained more knowledge then at the charter school. I was hesitant at first from rumors, but it turned out to be a great educational move for my child

Argyle Elementary has a wonderful staff , the teachers work with each student and makes sure that they are on grade level or above. The school has met AYP standards for the past 5 years . Its the Parent involvement that slacks... The teachers can only do so much... when it comes to PTA the parents do not want to participate We have a great new Principal and Ast principal years

As a parent of a first grader at Argyle, some parents make negative comments against the school, but how many of those are involved in volunteering for their child's school. If we as parents want changes then, join the PTA and one of its committees, the teachers I have worked with are more than willing for any outside help from parents. Part of volunteering is not only to get you involved and get to know what is going on at Argyle, but a time for you child to learn to give back and be involved with making changes. Many of our active volunteers, are regulars, they manage their schedules and work at most all school functions. If you want a Spelling Bee, then suggest it and work to organize it. We have a new principal, Mr. Babay, and a new PTA with elected members, so give them a chance to shine!

My Kindergartner is at this school and academics are not stressed. Parents are not treated as an important element in their child's education. The school does not encourage parents to volunteer in the classroom (its ok for fundraising activities). The PTA donated to a homeless organization but has never said/showed/explained how much money was raised and how much was spent and where. The PTA never sponsored any academic programs! Did this school have a Spelling Bee this year? All sorts of flyers get sent to parents to raise money for the school but where does it go? The administration and the PTA are in need of a big change! The focus needs to be more on academics at this school! Good luck with getting a good teacher!
