Both of my children attended Jefferson. We have since moved and both my children and myslef have come to the conclusion that Jefferson is by far one of the best schools around. I have had alot of contact with the office staff, as well as with the principal, and they have always been courteous and helpful. I can't even imagine any of them being rude to anyone, especially a child! My kids now go to one of the 'best' schools in Arkansas, or so we were told. My kids miss Jefferson still, and they have been gone for two years now. If it were feasible, I would send my children back to Jefferson without a hesitation. In fact, when my younger son becomes of school age next fall, we hope to be able to find a home where he can be in the Jefferson district.

My daughter attended Jefferson Elementary for her Kindergarten year. This was a horrible experience for her. The office staff and Principal are rude and demanding. I have no idea how the Principal was ever put in charge. My daughter broke her arm at school by jumping around. A complete accident, however the principal decided to stick her in the office at recess until she could 'calm down'! I have since moved her to a school within 3 miles. In 1st grade she has since tested at a 4th grade level and her new school says they wish she could be cloned. They say that my daughter is one of the sweetest, most respectful children they have ever met. However at Jefferson she was treated as an inconvenience. She was tortured by other children, yet these other children were 'special' because of their difficult home lives. What about the 'GOOD' ones??

I am a social work intern at Jefferson and I have seen nothing but wonderful, caring teachers and staff. Every schol has the bad apple teacher. But over all Jefferson provides services that I have never seen another public school provide. Any student would be lucky to attend a school where the faculty are more than willing to provide anything from a ride home when your sick to school supplies to paid vision and dental care to clothes to food. I think the list could go on and on. What an amazing staff ans learning environment.

I have 2 children that attend Jefferson and soon to be a 3rd and every thing that the first parent said about the school is so very true. My son when in the 1st grade was giving a detention for twirling his sissors on his desk the teacher put on the detention be overly rude and loud in the classroom! Did the teacher ever think to tell him to stop first? # 1 he is a boy ! # 2 I know many of times when i was in school there were kids that acted out so to speak and we never was given a detention the teacher told us to stop or we would have to take a time out. But Jefferson school is detention happy they give them out as if they were being paid by how many they give I have had to go to the school many times for reasons to whitch the teachers and especialy the princable was in the wrong! In my opinion the princable should not even be a princable until she learns respect for students and parents.
