I believe Athens Middle School does everything in their power to make a controlled, safe and friendly learning environment possible. I also believe that we may be able to have more opportunities for classes if we were to cut sport functions. They could do just as well independently!

My daughter is in the 6th grade. At the start of the year another 6th grade boy grabbed my daughters behind on the school bus. She went to the principal and the boy was talked to, that was it. The same boy touched my daughter in another part, two days later I still have heard nothing about the matter from the school. In 5th grade my daughter was caught chewing gum and had to serve one day of in school suspension. Me and my husband have decided to place our house up for sale and move our children to Harper Creek Schools their meap test seemed to come out higher over all.

Athens Schools do not take anough dicipline for the childrens actions. There is clearly not enough dicipline or careness for there actions. Athens Schools care to much about money and not what there students want. Athens Schools spend to much money on what is not needed. A lack of carness is also an issue in extracurricular activities. There is no parental involvement either. The teachers, well, there could be better.

We lived in Athens for a number of years and I believe that there needs to be more teacher involvement. And less letting the students get away with the bullying and harassment, teaching needs need to be a main prioriaty to students. These needs need to be met on a daily basis. In this district. If you are an outsider you will not suceed in this town, they don't take kindly to strangers. The cost for extra activities is also expensive to a budget.
