Mountain View Elementary School

I must admit I am very disappointed in this school. When we were stationed here four years ago, the principal was approachable, and had a genuine care and concern for the school. That is not evident under the new regime. When you walk through the doors, no longer is there a friendly feeling.....I see stressed out people running all over the place, and children who are afriad of being yelled at. Had I known things would have changed so much in so short a time, I would have moved to a different neighborhood, probably the one where Mr. Coleman is now. Parents beware, KISD please notice---this school used to be fantastic.

Wow!! Awesome Kindergarten Graduation today!! The songs were wonderful & my child so proud & excited!!! We truly appreciate the teachers who worked so hard with the students, the instructional assistants who work with them, the Specials teachers who build their skills, & the administration who is so supportive of Learning at Mt. View! Hats off to Mrs. Atkisson, Ms. Diaz, Mrs. Rich, Mrs. Skidmore, Mrs. Teston, Mrs. Gullekson, Ms. Tucker, Mrs. Frierson, Mrs. Polson, & Mrs. Varljen! What a wonderful day & year!!

My Son started Mt. View since Aug. 2003 and my daughter started in 2005 and I must say that my husband and I love the school. The staff at Mt. View have always been great. The teachers go out of their way to make sure the kids get the education to suceed

My two students attended MV for the last 3 yrs. One is a current TAG student who started out below grade level in a regular class. I can honestly say that the TAG program and cluster classes have been a wonderful experience in boosting her self esteem and providing her with a wonderful education. My youngest who began school at MV has not had such a wonderful experience. Unfortunately he had a teacher that did not teach at all and was almost held back a grade, having to attend summer school after the first grade. Luckily since then he has had better teachers and continues to improve, now making all A's and B's. All the staff recognizes me and seem to know my children well. Admin fills their role as do teachers. Excellent extracurriculars! The drop off/pick up system is a pain, but it's a great school overall.
