This school has had a change of focus over the years. The ACS I sent my son to 7 years ago was excellent, the main priority was education. Now the focus is behavior & demerits, if a child is having a problem they give them demerits - detentions - negative. They will not try to find out the source of the problem - the children must have parents that advocate for them, ask to have them tested etc - anyone with a problem this school would prefer to see out, they want to see scores up, stats up and it seems they have lost sight of what really matters - the children & educating them.
The school makes available a host of e-mails which are virtually useless. I use hotmail and every message I send either to an instructor or administrator gets returned. This is the third year in a row. You'd think this might be addressed. Also how come the student foreign languages classes meet once a week at the elementary level. That's absolutely ridiculously, especially if that one class a week is cancelled. I would like to know why my son has been a straight 'A' student in portuguese, but can't hold a simple conversation. After 3 years of portuguese he still can't by the first chapter of 'portuguese for dummies'

This is the best school in the state of Massachusetts! They have the best teachers. The friendliest principals, and the academic classes are so much more advanced than most other public schools in Massachusetts.
