We have 2 children in Wilson Montessori. One has learning disabilities and attended Kinder and first grades in a traditional classroom setting. I have to day that the Montessori setting has been the best choice we have made for our son. He has had his ups and downs but actually said he like going to school! The freedom to move, talk, and work with classmates either on the floor, by the window, standing, sitting, and getting to choose what work to do; his disabilities work in his favor at times. In the traditional setting so much focus was given to changing what the teacher saw as a negative. Montessori uses the child s energy and natural need to explore and move as tools to assist in learning. The Montessori Method is not expensive daycare . Do your own research and read the studies. Montessori teaches the WHOLE child and uses the natural interests and activities. Traditional schools take each child and mold that child into tradition (~ Antonym ~ INNOVATION). Looking at test scores does not give the whole picture. Wilson is a young school looking forward and working to develop its Montessori middle school. Montessori is not for everyone. But for those of us who have seen so many positives in our children- it s priceless.

montessori enviroment is one of the best education tools for our children. It has been proven elsewhere.Wilson is in its infancy state and working to improve as fast as possible.Parents are very involved. Support from HISD is improving.Tests do not reflect what my two childrens are learning at Wilson. Good school.

Excellent staff! Nurturing teachers and a very well rounded staff from the office support to the cafeteria.
This is my daughter's first year at Wilson Montessori and we have been very pleased! She is in Pre-K and is thriving. The students seem happy and engaged in the Montessori environment. The teachers are very kind and caring. Wilson has a strong sense of community and parent involvement. Great school!
