My child attended Elrod since the First Grade at which time the school helped her educational growth tremendously. She's currently in the Fifth grade an no longer attends Elrod due the declining emphasis on academics and the failing results in TAKS scores. Some of the teachers there are there for the Kids and sad to say but some are there just for the paycheck.

I have 3 children at Elrod, and the teachers there are excellent. They stress personal behavior as well as academics. They could use more parental involvement. Their G/T program is phenomenal.

My neighborhood school and I won't send my kids. Racially and socioeconomically imbalanced. Mostly latchkey apartment kids. They are trying to make a difference, but until they can entice the neighborhood kids, it's tough going...

My child has been going to El Rod since she was 5 years old. My daughter has struggled with an illness and it has prevented her from many things and she has also missed alot of school during the first years, but at El Rod each of the teachers and including the principle and the assistant principle have gone out of there way to assist my child with her school needs and much more. I feel safe leaving my child at the school and I also know that she has great teachers that assist her with all of her learning needs. I would recommend El Rod and give a standing ovation to all the staff at El Rod because there is not a teacher that I do not know there nor does my child, She loves it at school and so do I.
