This and other charter schools are a good alternative to the public school system. The classes are capped off at 25 students, and some great teachers have taught here. (Teacher turnover is high) The administration is efficient enough as long as you don't question anything they or their kids ever do. You'll see bullying and unfairness just like anywhere else, and parent involvement in the classroom is not really welcome. The playground is tiny, no lunch is served, and the classroom temperature is often uncomfortable. But no place is perfect.

I have two children at Amerischools and am pleased to say I made the right decision moving them from the neighborhood public school. The class sizes are great, and I love the teachers. The teachers truly care about the children, it's not just a job to them! I really like the fact that they include every subject; math, reading, writing, social studies, science, art, computers, and physical education while still finding time for field trips etc... The principal also holds anti-bullying classes each month for all grades. Granted there will always be issues, the staff and principal handle these issues in an appropriate and timely manner so as to discourage further behaviorial incidents. This is a place where my kids can feel comfortable and are motivated to learn!
