Although this school is great for students wanting to excel in arts, I don't think this is a good school for learning. First, the school is located in a rural area where most houses have broken windows and broken doors.Sometimes it's really scary there. The school building is not clean. 6th graders study in trailor classrooms, which isn't that bad, but when it rains it's a chaos. Also highschool boys tend to take advantage over middle school students. I was a former student who transferred to Cario middle.

My daughter is a new 6th grader at Charleston County School of the Arts. This is her first experience in public school and she LOVES IT!! In addition to receiving top of the line instruction in her art area (band) she is receiving first rate academic instruction. I would say it compares with and even possibly supercedes the private school she attended from K5 - 5th grade. We LOVE SOA!!!
