I attended Dawnville Elementary school from 2003-2007 (2nd - 5th grades). Every teacher that I had cared about me and my education, and never once did I feel like I had my 'self-esteem broken down' like one of the reviews said. If anything, the teachers and staff at DES helped me *build* my confidence, both personally and academically. Take it from a former student - someone who has actually had 1st hand experience with the current teachers/staff - Dawnville is great!

In response to the last poster: It takes more than a teacher to help educate a child. Parent/Teacher communication is key in helping your child to recieve a quality education. I've never had a problem with a rude and/or demeaning teacher at Dawnville. We moved here in 2003 from the Huntsville City School System (ranked as one of the 'elite' in the SE USA), and I am far more pleased with Dawnville than I was with the schools there.

I have a child at Dawnville and can not wait until he has finished. As far of the no child left behind program this school falls way behind. As a parent who has constantly struggled to get help from my childs teachers for three years now, I totally understand why this school does not meet the academic standards that many other elementary schools in this area do. Most of the staff seems to break the self esteem of small children instead of praising them and going that extra mile to make sure they learn on the current level. I too attended Dawnville as a child and I am very disappointed in the teaching practices.

I am very proud to say that I have not one, but two children at Dawnville, and I would not have them in another school in the County School System. From caring teachers and counselors, all the way up to qualified principals in Mr. Coker and Mrs. Bonds, you could not ask for a more caring, nurturing school. I have been more than pleased with the education that my son, and now my daughter, are receiving at Dawnville. I've always been kept up to date on the progress of my children, and have never had a problem in communication with any of the faculty or staff. - J. Hamilton
