Know your school choice options in Rhode Island.
In Rhode Island students can attend schools outside their district (called interdistrict choice) if the local school committee finds that it is more convenient or expedient to do so and makes arrangements with the new district. Students can also attend charter schools.Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher performing school in the district.
