In Montana your child can attend a school in a neighboring district (called interdistrict choice). Some districts are required to participate in this open enrollment program while others may choose whether to allow students to transfer, as long as there is space.
Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher performing school in the district.
