Our first year at Kolter and we were not pleased with the leadership of the staff. The non-responsiveness from teachers and administration to issues ranging from cleanliness to academics is lacking. The PTO is strong and parents are very involved - excellent, but failed to see support from staff. We were also disappointed in the manner in which inappropriate behaviors are dealt with or rather NOT dealt with... It's sad, because the teachers that do care are so overworked and stressed out - it shows...

Tremendous leadership, experienced/dedicated teachers, and engaged community environment. This school demonstrates over and over that it is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of each student.
My son is attending Kolter in the magnet program. I couldn't think of another school for him. I am very happy with the teachers, the Principal and the way the school works. Parents are very involved too. I think is a great school and one of the best.
Kolter has always been top of the heap when it comes to academics. There were some problems with the G/T program and its implementations; however, 2007 the G/T program has been implemented for all grade levels except Kindergarten. The prinicpal at Kolter is very approachable allows to the teachers to teach the way they need to rather than the way she wants them to. I am extremely and fortunate to have my child at this school. I was not even going to look at public school as an option until I toured Kolter. It is a jewel beneath the rough; the private school feeling without the financial burden.
